Project Warbird Salvage/Museum

1. Project Warbird Salvage/Museum...

Project Warbird Salvage/Museum is located in North Carolina at the Asheville Regional Airport, in the general aviation hangers. We are working on preserving our aviation history one part at a time. I feel that our aviation history should be preserved for our future generations to learn from, and our past generations to be honored for. I search all over the country to find aviation projects and artifacts. I will look in every barn, garage, airport, open field and wooded area to find these items. The goal is to get these aircraft parts and artifacts to museums, restorers and collectors that will preserve them. We welcome any help with our mission that you can provide.  Everyone knows that one guy down the road that has all that junk in his yard. If you know of someone that has aviation items, or you have some that you wish to part with, please let us know. If you are working on an aircraft and need parts, please see our (Parts for sale) page and see if there is anything that you need. We look forward to selling or trading an item to you. Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you will find what you are looking for and will have fun seeing the great items that we are trying to save.  ...

Visit to American Helicopter Museum.

5-31-2014 I also was able to visit the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester PA. I was happy to see that they have HUP-2 S/N:128479 in their collection. I was able to get more great pictures for reference for our project. They also have a Continental R-975 on display. I wish I could have put that in the trunk of the car. They have a very impressive collection of helicopters and artifacts. The H-21 out front was a great surprise to see. If you like helicopters, then this museum is a must for you.                         ...

Visit to Piasecki hanger and seeing the Speedhawk....

Yesterday I had the privilege of visiting Albert “Bud” Leonard in the Piasecki hanger at New Castle Airport in Wilmington DE. Bud gave me the grand tour. Inside the hanger was the experimental helicopter called the Speedhawk. This is Piasecki’s new idea of a mod for the Blackhawk helicopter. Bud showed and explained how the mod works. It just blows my mind!!! This is an AWESOME helicopter. Thank you Bud.           ...

Ashboro Municipal Airport and NCAMHOF

Yesterday I had the privilege to visit the Asheboro Municipal Airport. I delivered some Beech 18 parts to CJ Price for his Beechcraft 18H. It was a pleasure meeting MR and MRS Price and seeing their gorgeous Beech 18H. They have done an amazing job on restoring this aircraft to such high standards. They gave me a private tour of the museum (North Carolina Museum and Hall of Fame, NCAMHOF). They have a great collection of aircraft and artifacts. If you even get a chance to go and pay this museum a visit you should. You will not be disappointed. Thank you MR and MRS Price for taking the time to show me your aircraft and the museum. I hope to visit again soon.                                  ...
